Black Mountain Brecon Beacons Wild Camping Video – Bannau Brycheiniog

It was late summer 2023 when I set off on a 1-night hike and recorded my Black Mountain Brecon Beacons Wild Camping adventure.

My Black Mountain Brecon Beacons Wild Camping adventure included a 10 mile hike that passed two beautiful lakes – Llyn y Fan Fawr and Llyn y Fan Fach. I bagged the summits Picws Du 749m and Fan Brycheiniog (Fan Foel) 802m and camped on the latter.

I took my Rab Silwing tarp on my Black Mountain Brecon Beacons Wild Camping adventure as the weather was forecast to be nice. I was treated to a wonderful sunrise and cloud inversion in the morning. That is the experience that is so good for my mental health. To feel connected with nature in moments like that is truly breathtaking.

As a hypnotherapist, I know how important being in nature is. Hiking and wild camping gives me an opportunity to disconnect from my busy life and reconnect with what is important – inner peace.

Sitting on a mountain, listening to nothing more than the sound of the wind and the birds (and occasional sheep!) is good for the soul.
