Kinder Scout Wild Camp – Peak District Video – Mountains for Minds

It was a winter’s day in January 2022 when I set off from the village of Edale in the Peak District and hiked up to Kinder Scout via Ringing Roger. The temperature at night was about -3 degrees Celsius but my Rab Ascent 900 and Thermarest xTherm mat kept me nice and warm.

The wind at night picked up but the Soulo didn’t budge one inch. The weather in the morning was cloudy and prevented a sunrise although I enjoyed a nice sunset. The route back to the car went down Jacobs Ladder which I had climbed previously.

As a hypnotherapist, I know how important being in nature is. Hiking and wild camping gives me an opportunity to disconnect from my busy life and reconnect with what is important – inner peace.

Sitting on a mountain, listening to nothing more than the sound of the wind and the birds (and occasional sheep!) is good for the soul.
